As you know, Kamii's main focus is security. Thats why we are trying to add a dedicated solution to every problem there is. FakeSpace targets specifically issues with accounts mass-spamming related to scams covered in this article.
How FakeSpace works:
Fakespace works by constantly watching a channel you set. If a message is sent to that channel the member who sent it will be softbanned (banned and unbanned instantly) with their messages of past 3 days being deleted so the whole server is cleaned.
Why this works
The channel is NOT empty. When you configure fakespace Kamii sends an image to the set channel containing a warning that said channel is a honeypot and typing there will result in being softbanned.
The bots that this measure targets spam on every channel where they can, but usually don't read any messages on them and never read images on them, so they will fall into that trap and will be removed!
How to set this up properly
Step 1: Go to your server panel, turn the feature on and set the fakespace channel
It's best if that channel's name is something normal like: offtop, casual, memes, etc. It's also very important that @everyone does have permission to type there.
Step 2: You're all set!
It's good to inform your members that such channel has been added.
Why would I use this?
This is an issue that verification doesn't fix because the bots arent account that joined your server to spam on it - they are hacked accounts of your existing members so verification can't stop them! The accounts are also as stated above - softbanned so that way all of the messages they have managed to sent so far will be quickly removed.
